At Astley Primary School, the safety, wellbeing and happiness of every child is our highest priority.

We are committed to providing a safe, caring and inclusive environment where children feel valued, respected and able to achieve beyond their potential. We believe that children learn best when they feel secure, supported and confident that trusted adults will listen to them and help them when needed.

Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. All staff, governors and volunteers share a responsibility to protect children and promote their welfare. We work hard to create a culture of vigilance where concerns are identified early and appropriate support is provided promptly.

We recognise that safeguarding goes beyond child protection. It includes promoting attendance, supporting mental health and wellbeing, encouraging positive behaviour, protecting children online and ensuring that all pupils feel safe, included and respected.
